It’s about a girl named Alison Atkins. She passed away last week at the age of 16 from a disease called Colitis, It is similar to Crohns Disease but it stays in the Large Intestine.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a more general name for any type of inflammation of the colon or small intestine. IBDs are some of the worst diseases people can get, and what makes it worse is that there are so many people with different forms of IBD but they don’t look sick at all.

They don’t go through Chemo like a Cancer patient so they look as normal as you and me. So they are treated like they are faking pain or being sick. 

This breaks my heart since my mom is 44 and was diagnosed with an IBD called Ulcerative Colitis about 4 years ago. This disease almost killed her 4 years ago and will end up killing her later on in life. 

So many people go everyday not knowing they have an IBD and if they do know they have it they are treated like dirt. 

I’m posting this on here because I know tumblr can change things and I hope this can get posted all over the Internet because we need to remember that just because they don’t look sick doesn’t mean their insides aren’t literally killing them or that they are not in pain.

 and Please If you don’t know what IBD, Crohns or Colitis is just google it! Knowledge is power and if you just read about it you can try to understand what a unbelievably HUGE population of the world is dealing with every day of their life.
